JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an engaged and secure respite provider for a 5-year-old boy who is placed in a foster home in Hasslarp. The assignment includes 12 hours per week, distributed over 3 occasions.

About the Boy

He has autism and communicates with single words and prefers English, but can also say a few sentences; otherwise, he takes your hand and shows or points. He uses signs for food and clothing; otherwise, he likes to show pictures if he cannot communicate verbally.

He needs clear routines, preparations for changes, and support to finish activities before starting new ones. His biggest interests right now are animals and dinosaurs.

The Assignment

As a respite provider, you will be in the foster home and be there as support, allowing the foster family space for recovery and time with other family members. Your role is to ensure that the boy is happy and has a safe and stimulating time with you.

The assignment includes 2-3 weekday evenings per week, 4 PM - 7 PM, as well as daytime on weekends, Saturday or Sunday, approximately 6 hours, max 12 hours/week. You will agree with the foster family.

Suitable applicants may be students in LSS, nursing programs, social work programs, or other caring education. You are welcome to be a retiree who wants to get out and make a difference. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A driver's license is a must, as the home is located a bit far from public transport.
